Men of Unity:
implementing a spiritual vision to include, unite and serve
We currently have some 20 members and meet at least once a month to nurture our spirituality, discuss topics of interest to like-minded men and to be pro-active in community-based projects. It is a lot of fun and a great way to connect within the community of Unity North.
One of our goals is to spread the positive spiritual message of Unity
in the local community by working on projects
("hands-on") with commitment and love.
We wish to "be the change" we want to
see in the world.
We are currently focusing on the following projects:
The Unity North Elevator Fund,
Habitat for Humanity,
Project Open Hand and
The Salvation Army.
We welcome new members to meet with us 2nd Saturday of each month from 8.30-10.30am in the Admin Building.
We plan volunteering on a community-based project once a month.

8 Men of Unity volunteered at Project Open Hand (POA) on April 5. It was a gratifying experience to be able to pack 300 meals for those in
greatest need. After orientation (including a video presentation), we got to work on the "line" and interacted with other volunteers.
POA serves an average 3,000 meals daily to its clients who suffer from debilitating illnesses and has taken over the Meals on Wheels service for part of Atlanta. They also need delivery drivers as well as kitchen helpers. Men of Unity hopes to volunteer on an ongoing basis and we would encourage Unity members to check it out! Giving is receiving.
POA has a major event coming up on April 23rd (if you dine at selected restaurants, a % of the check goues to POA). They also need volunteers for this event and there are several orientations planned. Call Mike at POA on 404 872 8089 for more info or go to the website ww.projectopenhand.org. You can obtain a list of the restaurants and by dining out you will be making a contribution to a deserving community service.
