Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, affectionately called the "father of motivation" by his fans, is one of the most widely known and respected people in the field of self-empowerment. He became a well-known author with his best selling book, Your Erroneous Zones, and has gone on to write many other self-help classics, including Meditations for Manifesting, Staying on the Path, Your Sacred Self, Everyday Wisdom, and You'll See It When You Believe It.

Despite his childhood spent in orphanages and foster homes, Dr. Dyer, who has a doctorate in counseling psychotherapy, has overcome many obstacles to make his dreams come true. Today he spends much of his time showing others how to do the same. His latest Hay House titles include: Secrets of Your Own Healing Power, Wisdom of the Masters, Creating Your World the Way You Really Want It to Be, with Deepak Chopra, and How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want.

When he's not traveling the globe delivering his uplifting message, Wayne is writing from his home in Maui, Hawaii.

Maybe You've seen Dr. Dyer on PBS!

With more than 55 million books published in more than 48 languages, Dr. Dyer’s messages of transformational wisdom have crossed generations and cultural boundaries to touch the lives of millions of people around the world. Dr. Wayne Dyer: The Power of Intention is his fifth special for public television, following his 2001 blockbuster pledge specials Dr. Wayne Dyer's 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace and There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem, and his 1998 lecture specials How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want and Improve Your Life Using the Wisdom of the Ages.

America’s best-selling author and speaker on transformational wisdom, Dr. Wayne Dyer, returns to public television with a new focus, a new definition of the concept of “intention,” and a new method to connect to your infinite potential. In Dr. Wayne Dyer: The Power of Intention, Dr. Dyer transforms conventional thinking about how things happen in our lives into an exhilarating exploration of the power of intention and a profound understanding of how each person possesses the power to co-create the life he or she desires. The public television pledge special is based on his newest book and the first since his blockbuster 2001 pledge programs. It premieres nationwide in March 2004 on PBS.

Dr. Wayne Dyer: The Power of Intention guides viewers from an examination of our usual approach to intention – which is a self-achievement orientation based to a great extent on the ego – to an exploration of intention as seen through Dr. Dyer’s fresh interpretation of the scientific and metaphysical philosophies of the greatest thinkers of all time.

Intention, explains Dr. Dyer, is better understood as a field of energy to which every person is connected and from which every one of us is able to harness its infinite potential. It is not a question of whether or not we are connected to the field of intention, because that connection already exists. The questions he poses to his audience are: How capable are you of keeping your “link” to the field open and are you ready for what awaits you?

Dr. Dyer illustrates his points by offering personal anecdotes and signature stories that moves the audience sometimes to tears, frequently to abundant laughter and, throughout, to insight. His message is personal, clear and empowering: “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

The program ends with “The Dyer Dozen for Connecting to Intention” – a recap of twelve key steps to open the link to the field of intention: 1) want more for others; 2) think from the end; 3) be an appreciator; 4) be in rapport; 5) be aware of resistance; 6) contemplate yourself surrounded by the conditions you wish to produce; 7) practice the art of allowing; 8) practice radical humility; 9) be in a constant state of gratitude; 10) understand that you can’t resolve a problem by condemning it; 11) play the match game; and 12) meditate.
