I offer an approach to the law that recognizes that I am dealing with a person who has come to me for help. This means that the moment you walk into my office you will have an attorney at your side advocating for your interests, and if this means aggressive litigation that is fine. However, if your issue can be resolved with less financial costs and emotional burdens I will seek this path first. Many of today's law offices have lost their focus as they endlessly seek ways to cover their overhead. Instead of worrying about representation they are obsessed with getting the next paying client in the door. There was a time when an attorney was a professional who treated their clients like people who came to their office for guidance and help during a difficult moment in their lives and not numbers on the bottom line. Because of this I worry less about billable hours and support and facilitate interest based negotiations through the practice of collaborative law. In the collaborative process husbands, wives and their attorneys agree to resolve the issues of their case without a contentious court battle. The parties plan together and make thoughtful decisions that can work for the benefit of the entire family. The agreement not to resort to litigation creates an atmosphere in which I am allowed to advocate for your interests without destroying relationships. This approach may not be for all parties, but for those that are able to use this it has proven to be beneficial
