Newly Elected Board of Trustees Members
for 2004-2005
The following members were elected to the Unity North Board of Trustees at our Congregational meeting on Sept. 26th, 2004.
Judy Toensmeier- elected to President of the Board, succeeding President Mike Arasin in Oct., 2005. Formerly Vice President, re-elected to the BOT.
Judy Toensmeier is the current Vice President of the Board
of Trustees. Always seen volunteering at the UNAC Newcomers
table on Sunday in the foyer, Judy is a tireless volunteer
in the Church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Judy has been
on the Board for 7 years and has served as V.P. for a year.
She and her husband Dave live in Marietta with 4 pets - now
that the kids have left the nest. Judy is the always loving-
always smiling front office volunteer that we are so grateful
for.
Ray Martin-Treasurer- 2004, 2005, 2006
Former Board Consultant, elected to newly approved
seat on the BOT in Sept. of 2004.
Ray and Michele Martin found their spiritual home and family
at Unity North Atlanta in 2000.
Ray is a Professional Recruiter
and has been in the Restaurant Management Placement field
for the past seven years. He has owned and operated several
successful businesses over the last thirty-five years. Ray volunteered in his first year for the Men’s Group
Annual Golf Tournament, attended his first CLC in the fall
and has continued to host CLC Group’s in his home for
the last three years. He volunteered for the usher team three
years ago and has been an Usher Captain.
Ushering is the best way to meet people and Ray says that
“the hugs are a real bonus.” Ray accepted the
challenge as Chairman for the Silent / Live Auction in 2003
and has chaired with his wife, Michele ever since. Committee’s in which Ray is
active are: Financial Committee, Marketing Committee and the
Quest Team for the new Senior Minister. He is currently serving
as a consultant for the UNA Board.
 Bart
Starr- former member of the Board of Trustees. Served on the 2004-2005 BOT.
Former Board Consultant, elected to a newly created seat on the BOT in 2004.
An energetic construction manager and project manager with
excellent decision-making and organizational skills, Bart
Starr is an experienced manager and has specialized in individual
tenant build-outs including shopping center renovations.
Successful with start-up organizations from inception to full
operation, he thrives on challenge and understands working
within budgets. As the current Director of Volunteers
for "Camp Coca Cola", Bart has managed and implemented
the rules and safety program for the Coke employees (volunteers)
and has partnered with the general contractor for Camp Coca-Cola
to successfully build 10 cabins in 10 weeks, Habitat fashion
in 2004.

Rich Walters
Former Board Member- 2002-2005.
Rich is an avid student and teacher of New Thought and has
been involved with Unity North Atlanta and the Unity movement
since 1998. He has served as Treasurer on our Board of Trustees,
leading the team which recommended the first refinancing our
mortgage. Rich currently chairs the Services Committee focusing
on continually improving our “Big 4”at Unity North:
Music, Message, Aesthetics and Connection. Rich has also actively
participated in the Capital Campaign, Care Ministry and tape
ministry. He has enjoyed many classes and seminars while at
Unity North and has facilitated the Unity Basics Adult Education
class. Most recently, he has been a regular guest speaker
at one of our satellite churches in Chattanooga, TN over the
past year and a half. Rich is a seasoned business professional
with 17+ years in sales, leadership and management roles with
both Fortune 500 and startup organizations. He is currently
a consultant with Administaff, serving the visions of growing
businesses. He also served as mentor and volunteer for non-profit
organizations, such as the Leukemia Society and the MS Society,
and has been active in the Toastmasters organization and was
awarded Toastmaster of the Year in 2000 by his club. Rich,
his wife, Melissa, also an avid Unity student, and daughters
Evelyn and Mary Grace (“the true lights of my life”)
live in Marietta.
Barbara Wilkie- currently serving on the 2005 - 2006 Board of Trustees.
Served as Secretary of the Board in 2005.
Elected to fill the seat vacated by
retiring Board Member, Sandra Wilkes.
