Ed has a PhD in social science training and an extensive marketing research background. Ed says, “Unity principles have contributed to personal success, satisfaction, peace, and happiness in many areas of my life. Perhaps as importantly, I experienced the peace of trusting the process through the trauma of transformation.” |

Cathy Spiegel - Secretary
Kathy has been a member of Unity North since March of 2005 and attends service virtually every Sunday she is in town. She says Unity principles have enriched her life in a “continuing, daily, on-going process of self-reflection and spiritual growth.” As a step-mother of two teenagers, Cathy – and her husband, Cass Brewer – “rely heavily on the teachings of love and truth when parenting our children.” An active volunteer, Cathy is participating in the Appreciative Inquiry process and serves on the Facility Team that has evolved from that. She also is on the Decoration Team for the 2008 Auction, participated in the Backpack Carnival, which is part of the Kidsmas Team, and has adopted a landscape area at the church. She has played leadership roles at the law firm where she once worked, and sees Unity North expanding and growing in physical size and connection to our local community and beyond, through outreach projects throughout the United States and abroad. |

Donna Stott
Donna has a long history with Unity, including being involved in churches in Orlando and Hawaii since 1988. She has been attending UNAC for two years, since she and Mike and their family moved here from Oahu, where she was Uniteen Director and interim Youth Director, as well as a member of the Board at Windward Unity in Kailua. She has been a member for 1½ years. She volunteers with our Youth Program, worked with the Appreciative Inquiry process last year, and last October was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. She is active in the Small Group program, and has taken many Unity courses over the years. She is the mother of five children, ranging in age from 7 to 25. Her vision for UNAC includes growth in attendance, more classes, and more outreach to the community surrounding the church. Donna works in the real estate business.

Matt Duffy
Matt has been attending Unity North for four years and has been a member since February 2008. He’s volunteered for Kidsmas, Kidz Church, the Silent Auction, as a member of the “First Impressions” Team, and helps care for the Kids Zone in the Holy Grounds Café. A leader in a 12-Step program, Matt is skilled in communications, including newspapers, web sites, public relations, graphic arts, editing, and “rhetorical persuasion.” A father of children who attend Unity North, Matt wants to see the church continue to meet the needs of parents and kids. He is a voracious reader of spiritual books and is a communication instructor at Georgia State University. He plans to complete a PhD in Public Communication by the end of 2010. |

She is a “stay-at-home, home-schooling mom of two girls”; a group fitness instructor and health educator; and is working on a master’s degree in Natural Health. She is an Ambassador two Sundays a month, worked with the Monks’ programs, and helps on the Hospitality Team, as does her husband, Adam Smith. She sees herself as a role model and guide for those seeking natural health and wellness and dreams of a UNAC school. She is vice president of her MOMS club in Woodstock, helping co-create plans and activities for local stay-at-home moms. She hopes children can be involved in more activities at UNAC. |

Frank Birdsong
Frank has been attending Unity North for 15 years and has been a member since 1996. He was a past Board Member, but after being selected as the architect for the new building, he stepped down to avoid a conflict of interest. Frank has experience in marketing and has been an active volunteer at Unity North, including in the church’s Capital Campaign. He currently is a member of the Good Vibrations Choir and helped plan the creation of Unity North’s Youth Center on the lower level of the Administration Building. He says Unity principles have always resonated with him, and is especially interested in the metaphysical aspects of Unity. He envisions Unity North growing to an average weekly attendance of 900 to 1,000; with a “superlative” children’s program; and reaching out to the surrounding community.
