About Robyn
Robyn Openshaw grew up the eldest of 8 children, raised on a tight budget where the menu was dominated by simple plant foods: whole grains and legumes, fruits and vegetables. She has a web site, GreenSmoothieGirl.com, with 80,000 new visitors monthly, dedicated to helping people achieve high energy and vibrant health. Its mission is to teach families how to live a whole-food lifestyle (mostly plants and 60-80 percent raw) diet that is easy, inexpensive, and pleasing to the palate.
Robyn teaches at Brigham Young University (BYU) and is the author of 12 Steps to Whole Foods with over 175 recipes, and The Green Smoothies Diet. She is a single mother of 4 competitive athletes with high caloric needs, who help develop and test her recipes. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees from BYU and the University of Utah, is a charter school founder, teaches nutrition classes, and helps local Utah families obtain high-nutrition food storage items in group buys.
